What hours is the Botanical Garden open?

The Garden open to the public every day. Summer hours 6am - 9pm. Winter hours 8am - 6pm. Look on the calender for special evening openings

 

 

Are there maps to the Botanical Garden?

Yes, brochures are available at the Welcome Center as well as maps along the trails.  There is also another brochure that gives flowering times of native plants, as well as a list of what is currently in bloom. 

  

 

Are there picnic tables on the trails?

There are tables along the trail for you to enjoy a packed lunch.  There are a few picnic tables behind the Welcome Center near the entrance to the Botanical Garden, and also near the Prehistoric Garden.  You may also eat in the Nature Center amphitheater if there are no programs in progress.  Please do not leave trash.

 

 

Are pets allowed in the Garden?

Leashed pets are welcome, but please clean up after them.

 

 

 Can we pick/dig up flowers from the Botanical Garden?

Picking or digging up plants / flowers is cause for removal from the park. The Botanical Garden serves as a museum of living plants, including many rare and protected species.  You are free to pick from anyone of the brochures in the Welcome Center about our native and botanical plants. In these brochures is information about where these plants can be purchased locally.

 

 

Does the Garden offer group tours?

Our staff in the Welcome Center would be glad to schedule a tour for your group.  Advanced notice is neccessary to have a tour with our horticulturist. 

 

 

I have a plant/flower, can you tell me what it is?

Stop by the horticulture hut during business hours and we can try to help you.  We also have computers setup for guests to use with software that help to identify many various plants. 

 

How can I volunteer in the Botanical Garden?

I’d like to reserve a Garden room for a private event.

Please see one of our hostess's in the Welcome Center, they will be glad to make all of your arrangements to help lighten the load of your special day.
